Emerald provided Commissioning services along-side LEED and sustainability consulting services to help Cuyahoga Community College West Stem IT Building achieve LEED Gold. This project is certified under LEED Building Design + Construction (BD + C) V3 certification at the Gold level. This project was one of a two building expansion for CCC. This building is a new 3 story, 85,000 SF multi-purpose education building along with the additional building being a 15,000 SF renovation of an existing building. The project diverted 81% of construction waste from the landfill and is extremely energy and water efficient. An Exemplary Performance Credit was earned for 31% of materials containing recycled content. The project included many sustainable features into the design including a bio-swale to collect rainwater as well as a living wall to include biophilia into the space.
